Rope on Wood Block Study No. 1
"Spago"

It's been over a decade since I've sketched as I typically paint directly onto canvas or panel. However, my client requested a series of studies from which she will choose her favorite for the final still life painting. The subject of rope was so intriquing to me as I love it's organic qualities, hence my decision to enhance those features by setting it upon a wood block into which the word "Spago" will be carved. The subject will be portrayed in a classical format oil painting which should be divine in it's simplicity.
